Tamar Valley AONB, Environment Agency, Natural England and Cornwall Council have formed a partnership in order to tackle the growing problem of invasive plants growing in the Tamar Valley. Contractors were brought in to survey and treat the areas worst affected with invasive riparian plants such as Giant Hogweed and Himalayan Balsam. The Tamar Valley AONB is particularly keen to prevent these invasive plants entering Cornwall where it is virtually absent.

Last year landowners were offered a free site visit and information pack to assess the extent of the spread and to measure the success of previously works.
