Low Carbon Farming Project

FWAG SW, together with the EA and Tamar Valley AONB are hosting a free event designed to health check your soils. A healthy productive soil with a good structure and plenty of soil organic matter is also good for the environment.  On this practical day we will learn about the benefits of soil carbon from North Wyke soil scientist Dr Jenni Dungait, and how to examine your own farm soils with FWAGSW adviser Sonia Oates. We will also look at the economic advantages of a healthy soil and discuss the requirement of the new Soil GAECs under the new Basic Payment Scheme.
